Feb 15, 2021
Tunstall has provided the mobile call system for the new Corona Treatment Centre-Jaffestrasse (CBZJ) in Berlin, ensuring both patients and staff can easily make emergency calls. Constructed in under four weeks, the centre has been built to treat Covid-19 patients who do not require intensive care, relieving the burden on hospitals and enabling them to continue to care for seriously ill patients. The first area of the centre has around 500 beds, with twenty percent of these beds equipped with respirators.
The Tunstall mobile call system comprises 80 CareAssist radio alarm receivers, along with 400 radio pull cords situated in bathrooms and 1,200 MyAmie radio pendants on hospital beds. Staff carry a CareAssist portable telecare emergency call receiver, which will signal an incoming alert from the pull cords and MyAmies by with a ring tone, a text message on the display and a vibration alarm, ensuring staff are immediately alerted.
Tunstall’s products and services have proved to be of great value to the health and care sectors during the pandemic, in particular supporting the increased number of intensive care places required. Globally, we are also deploying telecare and telemonitoring to ensure chronically ill or isolated patients receive the necessary care and health support at home, whilst reducing the risk of cross infection. We continue to work closely with our partners to help them deliver their vital services, employing safe systems of work to protect them, our employees and the people we all support as we provide innovative technology solutions to help combat the effects of the virus.
