Tunstall launches Communicall Digital to support independence in retirement and supported living

Tunstall Healthcare has launched Communicall Digital, a fully digital warden call system designed to support residents’ independence while helping retirement and supported living teams manage services more efficiently.

Suitable for retirement living, sheltered housing and extra care schemes, Communicall Digital has been developed to provide reassurance for residents and practical oversight for staff in a single, connected solution.

Designed around residents

At the heart of the system is a simple touchscreen room unit that enables residents to:

  • Manage door entry
  • Make room-to-room video calls
  • Raise an alarm using a clearly illuminated physical button

In the event of an emergency, help can be summoned quickly and confidently. The system can also be paired with a pendant, allowing residents to answer calls from the comfort of their bed or chair.

Supporting staff and managers

For house managers and care teams, Communicall Digital provides dedicated handsets to manage calls and view live resident status across the scheme.

A cloud-based Central Management Platform enables:

  • Real-time visibility of activity
  • Secure access from any location
  • Generation of bespoke or predefined reports
  • A comprehensive audit trail of key events

Built for a digital future

Communicall Digital operates entirely over digital connectivity using the industry-standard BS8521-2 (NOW-IP) protocol. By removing reliance on analogue networks or protocol bridging devices, the system supports providers as the UK continues its transition away from analogue infrastructure.
