A groundbreaking telehealth pilot: What can we learn?

The results of a new telehealth pilot in Ireland have been launched. Based in County Wexford, the project was undertaken by a multi-agency Stakeholder Group (Wexford County Council-Age Friendly Programme including the Wexford Older People’s Council, Age Friendly Ireland, HSE, Wexford General Hospital). It provided a 12 week telehealth intervention to 50 patients with chronic illnesses including Chronic Heart Disease, COPD & Diabetes and was independently evaluated and monitored by Waterford Institute of Technology.

Competition launched to raise awareness of assistive technology amongst children

In celebration of the Stockport Frog Trail, telemonitoring and response service Carecall has launched a competition to raise awareness amongst children about the importance of assistive technology in supporting the independence and safety of older and vulnerable people. Supported by Tunstall, the competition will see under 16s in the Stockport area submit their ideas for new technology that could help vulnerable people stay independent and at home for longer.

New report calls for assistive technology to become mainstream in adult social care services
