With the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, every commercial organisation, which meets the financial threshold set by the Act, must prepare a Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking statement for each fiscal year. The legislation stipulates that an organisation's statement must include the steps it is taking in the fiscal year to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in any part of its business or supply chain, or state that the organisation has taken no such steps.
Tunstall is committed to continuously improving our practices to combat modern slavery and human trafficking. This statement sets out Tunstall’s commitment to combatting modern slavery and human trafficking in its own business and its supply chains. This statement relates to actions and activities during the fiscal year 1st October 2023 to 30th September 2024. Tunstall is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in its corporate activities and to ensuring that its supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.
This statement will cover the activities of the Tunstall UK Businesses.

Tunstall also designs and manufactures integrated NurseCall systems and communication solutions to assist clinical teams in providing high quality and efficient care in hospitals.
Tunstall currently operates in several countries. All Tunstall regional activities operate under the same group wide commitment to ensure supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.
Tunstall continues to ensure that it has policies that reflect Tunstall’s commitment to act ethically and with integrity, and cover Tunstall’s commitment to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Tunstall's policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure that they are effective and reflect the latest best practices. Tunstall now has a Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy that references all related Tunstall Policies to ensure all areas scrutinised, reviewed and maintained.
Tunstall carries out due diligence requiring its suppliers to positively confirm compliance with the Modern Slavery Act. This requires all new suppliers, both direct and indirect, to sign up to Tunstall's Responsible Purchasing Policy before they can be accepted as a supplier. This policy is regularly reviewed and includes Tunstall's commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking, whilst setting out the expectations that Tunstall has of its suppliers in this area.
Tunstall suppliers are reviewed on an ongoing basis with diarised direct supplier review meetings taking place throughout the year. One of the factors considered in this ongoing review is the supplier's compliance with Tunstall's Responsible Purchasing Policy and their commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. Supplier Audits are undertaken with a schedule of Audits being delivered.
Tunstall continues to review its internal key performance indicators (KPIs) it has implemented to meet its commitment to combat modern slavery and human trafficking.
Tunstall has an online training module covering the Modern Slavery legislation. This helps to ensure our commitment to combating modern slavery extends throughout our operations and supply chains. The training equips them with the necessary knowledge and tools to identify the indicators of modern slavery, conduct robust due diligence on suppliers, and understand their role in mitigating risks, upholding human rights, and ensuring ethical sourcing practices in line with the Modern Slavery Act.
Tunstall remains steadfast in its commitment to continuously improving its mechanisms for identifying and combating modern slavery and human trafficking across its operations and extended supply chains.
Our approach involves an ongoing cycle of assessment, action, and review. This includes supplier audits to verify compliance with our ethical standards and local legislation, alongside regular internal audits of our supplier management procedures.
These reviews ensure adherence to our anti-modern slavery policies, identify emerging risks, and pinpoint opportunities for further strengthening our due diligence processes. We are dedicated to working collaboratively with our suppliers, offering support and guidance to help them uphold our Responsible Purchasing Policy and enhance their own capabilities in preventing modern slavery, ultimately reinforcing the integrity of our entire supply chain.
