Purpose

A hassle free solution to bridge the gap between analogue and digital

Housing providers, whether extra care, retirement living or independent retirement communities, no longer need to face the daunting task of replacing their entire warden call alarm scheme during the digital transition. IP Connector can transform systems as old as 25 years from analogue to digital, including Communicall Vi, Vi IP and Connect.

IP Connector retrofits onto existing equipment near the control unit, converting all scheme calls to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) to NOW-IP protocols. All other equipment such as speech modules and telecare sensors are unaffected, meaning both residents and staff can continue using familiar systems without disruption.

Using IP Connector to convert existing scheme technology enables providers to plan and implement a digital strategy over time, phasing investment in completely new systems rather than requiring significant capital outlay ahead of January 2027.

Integration

Your trusted partner for the digital switchover

For over 65 years, Tunstall has been a leader in installing, servicing, and monitoring group living warden call telecare schemes, which have relied on the UK’s analogue telephone infrastructure to transmit tone-based alarm calls to Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs) nationwide.

With the analogue infrastructure being phased out in favour of digital lines that operate using IP protocols by December 2025, Tunstall has developed the IP Connector to bridge the gap between the analogue and digital worlds. This innovative solution converts the analogue protocols generated by scheme alarm systems into NOW-IP (BS8521-2) protocol, fully compatible with the UK’s new digital infrastructure.

With the IP Connector, you can seamlessly transition to the digital era without disruption. It ensures that your scheme remains operational and connected to the ARC using the latest digital protocols, futureproofing your system ahead of the analogue switch-off deadline.
