Tunstall hosted a number of fundraising initiatives throughout December, including a bake off and raffle. Combining money raised from these activities with the company’s annual charitable donation brought the grand total to over three thousand pounds.
Money donated to Alzheimer’s Society is used to support people with dementia, their families and carers by providing information, support and services. Funds are also used to support the campaign for understanding of dementia and to progress medical and social research into the cause, cure and prevention of dementia.
With headquarters based in Yorkshire, Tunstall is the world’s leading provider of technology enabled care solutions which help people with conditions such as dementia to live safely and independently. Tunstall and Alzheimer’s Society have recently worked together on the Dementia-friendly technology charter which aims to increase awareness of technology to support people with dementia and their carers, and encourage best practice for commissioners and service providers.
Julie Lee, Community Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society said
On behalf of the charity I would like to thank Tunstall staff for their efforts in raising this money for Alzheimer’s Society. It will make a real difference to people living with dementia and those who care for them.
Gemma Reucroft, Tunstall’s UK HR Director said
I’m proud to be presenting this cheque on behalf of Tunstall to Alzheimer’s Society. Not only does the company make solutions designed to make life a little easier for people with dementia, but many of the people who work here have been personally affected by the condition, with most of us knowing someone who lives with it. We hope that the money we’ve raised will go some way towards supporting Alzheimer’s Society to continue their amazing work.
