Tunstall will showcase myworld, an intuitive tablet-based applications suite designed to enhance independent living and improve communications.
Focus on new partnerships
Tunstall Healthcare, the leading provider of technology enabled care services, will be demonstrating its extensive range of telehealthcare solutions, which form part of their whole-systems approach to supporting people in the community, and deliver improved health outcomes and quality of life.
Tunstall’s myworld is a suite of mobile applications running on a tablet that provides residents, with no previous experience of technology, a simple and safe means of connecting to their care provider, friends, family and other services through software and secure social media platforms. It has been designed to support independent living by giving users better control over aspects of their daily life, allowing them to; schedule appointments, book meals, report property repairs, view upcoming events and send/receive messages to their carers and families.
With its simple yet intuitive touch-screen interface and a range of easy to use applications, Tunstall’s myworld is like no other solution on the market, designed as an extension of traditional communication to offer a wealth of fully supported applications in one packaged product. It provides users with a platform to see their friends or relatives using video software such as Skype, and allows them to become part of community activities to improve social wellbeing.
Simon Arnold, UK & Ireland Managing Director at Tunstall said:
Technology enabled care services, which includes telecare and telehealth, are a key enabler for change, and when used as part of a holistic package of care can support the effective delivery of healthcare in the community, increasing levels of self-management, reducing the pressure on acute health care services and improving the patient experience. Providing solutions like myworld allows users to communicate with friends and family whenever suits them, offering reassurance and improved health and wellbeing, while at the same time delivering value for money.
Tunstall will also highlight its recent partnership with Putting you First, working together to carry out a remote monitoring test of change involving patients living with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in the Annan area of Dumfries and Galloway. Putting You First’ is a five-year change programme, implemented as a partnership approach between the NHS, Council and the Independent sector to transform care delivery in the region.
The Annan Remote Monitoring (ARM) test of change project involves patients living with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), who would benefit from being supported by Tunstall’s remote monitoring solutions to improve self-management and potentially reduce unnecessary hospital admissions.
Tunstall will also demonstrate myclinic, a multi-user telehealth system that enables residents in supported housing to monitor their health more regularly in the comfort of their own surroundings. Users are able to access their individual records and monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate and blood sugar level, storing the data securely for review by a medical professional to ensure a pre-emptive response for early intervention.
Tunstall will also announce its joint partnership with The Centre for Assistive Technology and Connected Healthcare (CATCH) at the University of Sheffield, and HMA Digital Marketing to develop 'mHealth Assist', an innovative mobile technology platform which is being designed to support healthcare management and independent living for people with long-term conditions.
